How much does a photo booth rental cost? (2026 cost index)

"How much does a photo booth cost" is the single most-asked question in this niche — so we lead with it. Across the 819 companies that publish a starting package price, the national median is $599. Half of all packages fall between $450 (25th percentile) and $795 (75th percentile); the cheapest advertised setups start near $300 and high-end, multi-hour or luxury builds reach $5,000. Price tracks booth style (360 and glam run high, selfie stations low), hours booked, travel distance, and what's bundled in — prints, an attendant, props, backdrops, and digital sharing.

How we built this: two sources, one directory

Most directories stop at Google Maps. Our pipeline compiles from two sources: 9,611 Maps-verified companies (with ratings, review counts, photos, and location) plus web-only companies found via organic web search — 935 of them, clearly labeled and never ranked above rated companies. Attribute counts — weddings, insured, attendant included, unlimited prints, digital sharing — are mined from each company's own website and its customers' reviews, so they're honest floors that fill in as enrichment lands, never inflated guesses.

Methodology: company counts from our continuously maintained national directory — Google-Maps business listings plus web-only companies found via organic web search (marked as such, never ranked); the cost index reads each company's published starting package price; attribute counts (weddings, insured, attendant, prints, sharing, booth styles) are mined from the companies' own websites and customer reviews; population = US Census 2024 estimates. Per-capita = companies ÷ state population × 1,000,000. Want the dataset for a story? Email us — we're happy to cut the numbers by state, metro, or booth style, with attribution.
